Former Eastern Michigan University (EMU) student Julea Ward was kicked out of the school’s graduate counseling program after she refused to counsel a gay student on religious grounds.

According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, “in 2009, [Ward] informed the school that she could not counsel a homosexual client who sought advice about a relationship on the grounds that it would contradict her religious views.”
